Meet presenters Carol Gaab, Susan Gross and Kristy Placido.

Carol Gaab

A seasoned presenter, Carol Gaab has been presenting TPRS workshops and in-services for national and international schools and universities since 1996. Carol also presents for the Bureau of Education and Research and is known for presentations that are highly engaging and practical. A master teacher, Carol has 15 years experience teaching second language, including Spanish at all levels and ESL for various major league baseball clubs. Her clients have included the SF Giants, Oakland A’s, CO Rockies, AZ Diamondbacks and Milwaukee Brewers. In addition to writing articles published in educational journals, Carol has written and published TPRS training materials and curricula for elementary through high school students. President of TPRS Publishing, Carol also serves as a TPRS consultant/editor for various textbook publishers.

 

Susan Gross, TPRS PresenterSusan Gross

Susan is an educational consultant and workshop presenter. She has been invited to consult throughout the US and internationally. Susan taught languages in public schools for 33 years, also serving as department chair and district language supervisor. During this time, she received numerous awards, including SWCOLT “Excellence in Teaching,” CCFLT “Genevieve Overman Service to the Profession,” and her school’s “Teacher of the Year.” She was President of CCFLT, a board member of SWCOLT, as well as fulfilling various offices in other professional organizations. Susan has written numerous articles that have been published in professional journals across the nation. She also wrote, translated, and edited a variety of foreign language materials.


Kristy Placido, TPRS PresenterKristy Placido

A master teacher with 13 years' experience, Kristy Placido has used TPR Storytelling with Spanish students at the middle school, high school, and college levels. Kristy provides TPRS training to foreign language teachers across the country in addition to teaching high school Spanish and advising the Spanish Club in Fowlerville, MI. She is the author of the novel, Robo en la noche and has co-authored two TPRS student textbooks: Cuéntame Mucho and The NEW Cuéntame Más. One of the highlights of Kristy's career has been teaching Spanish for TPRS Publishing's International Multi-cultural conferences in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Technology is one of Kristy's passions. She enjoys training teachers to use technology, and integrating technology into her own classroom. She is proud to be the co-founder of the moreTPRS list. Kristy also holds a Masters degree in Curriculum and Teaching from Michigan State University.
